Re: Classic sudoku speed

I saw a comment on a previous sudoku set along the lines of "I see that the unwritten rule of no X-wings without signposting them has been done away with"

How *would* you signpost such a thing?

Re: UKPA Monday evening Zoom drop-ins

I think this is a great idea and would love to join you, unfortunately I'm unavailable tonight. Somewhat perversely I seem to find many of the Sudoku variants easier than the classics - I'm pinning this on the fact that I've watched a lot of brilliant CtC videos on variants and have an idea about ho...

Thanks, I see it now. Definitely the hardest of the variants to get my head around!

Re: UKPA Masyu Contest 14 May - 17 May 2021

For the Deformable Masyu, I'm having trouble working out how to approach the puzzle. Is it a case of just testing each white circle to see whether changing it to black causes a contradiction?

Re: 2021 WPF Sudoku and Puzzle GPs

Looking at the GP instruction booklet for this weekend. Does the Myopia have multiple solutions? I can't work out why the loop can't go 1 step from the top-left clue cell instead of 2 as pictured.

Re: Division C 2020-2021

Just to clarify - are you interested in the time is takes to fill in the puzzle, then I stop the timer, then I write down the answer key, or should the time to write the answer key down be included in the time.

Tapa Variations Contest

So I attempted the Tapa variations contest over on LMI. I'm no Tapa expert but did anyone else try it and find it really, really hard? Great set of puzzles, but I found the Hamle and the Easy As totally intractable, and only solved 1 Double, 1 Regional, 1 Power of Tapa and I did solve the Palindrome...

Re: Puzzle Duel Anniversary Contest

I managed to get into the Battenberg but with too little time left to make a solution, the next time I looked I hit the Point a Start but the Start button did not work, so I gave up at that point.

I do think it's a really nice idea and look forwards to the next iteration.
